School spirit is the energy that brings students together, whether it’s cheering at a game, dressing up for a pep rally, or taking part in long-standing traditions. It’s the pride and excitement that fill the halls, creating a sense of community. But what makes these traditions so special? How do they keep the school united year after year? Lets ask some students here at Mountian view And get their opinions! To begin we first asked a sophomore Audrey Hernandez a few questions about what keeps her spirit throughout the school year and she says “The football games are my favorite thing throughout the school year and bring everyone together” i then asked What/ when did the football games become your favorite witch she replied “ freshman year was when they really became my favorite because it made high school easier because you could connect with people outside of school” after hearing Auderys Favorite spirit tradition we learn how beneficial the football games can be to incoming freshmen to get out of there comfort zone. We Then go on to ask Sophmore Mariah Hartman What her favorite spirit tradition was to which she replied” Spirit week is my favorite because it makes school fun and brings us together” i asked her to further explain what she meant by it brings us together and she said” the memories we make from the spirit weeks even when you don’t dress up the week just feels more fun!” Mariah’s point of view on Spirit Week is just one of the reasons why the halls are filled with spirit on Spirit Week. We then asked Evelyn Koski about her opinion on spirit traditions to see what her favorite was and she replied “Freshmen seminar When you go out to the field and spell out your graduation year with ur graduation class and its a really cool experience.” i then asked her what else she liked about her freshman seminar and she said “ The boat race tradition was really fun as well it took a lot to get to the end and actually race the boats but overall a fun experience.” As we’ve seen through Audrey, Evelyn, and Mariah, school spirit isn’t just about cheering at games or wearing school colors it’s about building a sense of pride, community, and tradition that lasts beyond the school year. These traditions passed down through the years, connect students across grade levels, creating memories that stay with them long after they graduate.
