As spring reaches a peak, Mountain View’s Girls Soccer Season is in action and a spotlight hits a group of players who have spent the past years building skill and a legacy, the seniors.
It’s an extremely valuable year for the class of 2026, where the Mountain View Soccer team only has two star seniors, Addison Gaberik, 12, and Teagan Bauer, 12. It’s more than just games and practices, but a final chapter filled with satisfaction from crossfit, long bus rides, indoor futsal, and memorable moments on the field.
After years of dedication, both seniors have stepped into leadership roles as team captains for the varsity team, to guide underclassmen and set a tone for the entire program. “I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to grow as a team through games and team bonding.” said Gaberik.
Throughout the season, the seniors have been key contributors both offensively and defensively. Whether it’s Bauer, organizing plays for Mountain View’s backline, or Gaberik, attacking while keeping the games morale high.
Off the field, the seniors have also focused on creating strong team bonds. They’ve worked on organizing team dinners and building a sense of unity beyond the scoreboard. For underclassmen, the seniors serve as role models. “One piece of advice I would give to freshmen is to find joy in playing and give it your all, but take it all in while you can because it flies by,” said Gaberik.
As the season continues, Senior Night is near and shows as a milestone of celebrating hard work over years, marking the beginning of the end. Still, the seniors aren’t done with their season yet. Mountain View’s focus for 2026 is to maintain a strong, victorious season.
“The one thing that I will miss the most about soccer is the community and how everyone is working for the same goal.” Said Bauer. “It makes you feel included in a way nothing else can.”
